The MA in History/Museum Studies Program teaches the craft of the historian and the theory and skills of public practice. Our mission is to unearth history while building community. As a result, every semester students and faculty engage with the local community to complete collaborative projects that make a difference in our region (exhibitions, public programs, websites). We bridge theory and practice while making a positive impact in our world.
What makes us unique?

During our program, students gain first-hand experience in the field, enter professional communities, and launch their careers. Many alumni have taken positions at museums and historic sites, working as educators, curators, collections staff, and administrators. Our alumni have also used their skills in other fields, such as education, libraries and archives, and law.
Our Application Deadline is February 1st for Fall admission. Our Graduate Program does not require GRE scores for applications.
